I have long been a fan of books on tape.... well CD now but when I started listening to them they were all on tape. When the Harry Potter books first came out I actually taped the entire first book at night after the kids went to sleep. Then we played them in the car when we went on vacation. It was really fun because I allowed myself to add silly, personal little comments throughout the tape and my young ones were completely entertained for hours in the car. I don't think cars even have tape players anymore, but making those tapes for our van is a fond memory. I wonder if my older kids even remember those tapes?
